It might go without saying that our brains are human’s most precious asset, aside from physiological functions. Our brain really makes life possible . Sometimes problems arise, sometimes you might have difficulty focusing on a single task or your hyperactivity starts to become too much to handle.
These situations are common for people with ADHD, and while understandably worrisome, it doesn’t mean that t you have to solely rely on drugs. There are ways to teach your brain to serve you better Incluir acá que no siempre los farmacos son el tratamiento a llevar, hay alternativas
One of the most common ways is called neurofeedback
And our guest, Ofer Lidsky is going to talk more about how his company, Excellent brain is taking neurofeedback to the next level.
In brief….
Ofer Lidsky is the Founder and CEO of Excellent Brain, his mission is oriented to building a world where everyone’s minds, and more specifically ADHD’s minds can reach their full potential and beyond. His company’s method of achieving it? Combine EEG headsets with personalized development programs.
A personal matter
Excellent Brain was founded in 2015, after a long research from Ofer’s side, whose son has special education needs. He shared with us, that his idea for the company came from the foundations of brain training methods, a mechanism that’s often overlooked but that can help people to have better cognitive abilities. Excellent Brain is focused on neurofeedback, a training brain technique that can teach you to regulate some brain functions.
Training, the key to magic
One of the most amazing things about Excellent Brain is that it actually helps people. For those dealing with ADHD, it can mean a turn of 360º in the way they see or consider their abilities. And while it might sound like magic, it’s more the result of perseverance and consistent hard work during the training process. The results certainly are worth it, in some cases, it can be even as effective as drug therapy.
Bridging distances
The main symptoms of ADHD are poor attention span, hyperactivity, and impulsivity. This means that kids with ADHD face serious struggles at school and later on during their university days. Excellent Brain’s program is built to be used in clinical settings or at home so parents can directly help their children. The kit offers an innovative yet user-friendly approach to using neurofeedback along with tools ready to track any progress made.
A rising situation
Ofer’s research seems to indicate that globally, our overall ability to sit and focus on something for an extended period is decreasing more and more. Kids at school can’t longer remain quiet while reading page after page of information. The good news is that proposals like Excellent Brain actively target that problem by making kids and people, in general, sit for 20 minutes twice a week, just to focus on a single task. 15 weeks, 30 sessions and that’s it.
The science behind
Neurofeedback isn’t exactly a new science, as it has been around for 100 years or so since scientists discovered that our brains emit waves and that by electroencephalography we can measure that electric activity and know if the brain is working as it should or not. If the answer is negative, then it’s possible to take our brains back to their normal functioning by teaching them the right course of action. If the brain performs the task, in this case, keeps itself focused, correctly, positive feedback appears on the screen, hence the neurofeedback name.
