Learning from the beginning
Henrik is an engineer but he can’t deny that he has always had a huge interest in business, so from the very beginning he made entrepreneurship his life choice. He co-founded up to six start-ups. Some made it well, others failed along the way. This gave him a unique leverage. After all, he was already familiar with what strategies made businesses successful. Perhaps he didn’t know it at the time, but this will help to set the foundations of Veo Technologies.
A good story for a greater company
The idea for Veo Technologies came in a single afternoon, Keld, the other co-founder, had arrived late to his son’s football game, having missed the great moment of seeing him scoring a goal. This got him thinking about why all matches couldn’t be recorded, when he met Henrik, the two of them agreed that something had to be done. There had to be away of capturing those moments, even if they weren’t part of the European League.
The proposition that’s changing sports
If your son's match can be recorded, why stop there? Why not use AI and technology to gain personalized insights into each player? How’s that team doing this season compared to previous years? Historically speaking, sports technology has only been available to high-level teams, after all hiring a TV crew requires a lot of money. But if a camera could do all the work? Veo’s latest product Veo Cam 3, streams the game, records it, and spots improvement points.
It’s more than just a camera
The uniqueness of Veo Technologies is that it goes beyond capturing those special moments during a game, it’s an assistance tool for coaches to break down everything that happened, the amount of times a ball is passed, the goals that perhaps were missed, and all the data that someone in charge of taking a team to the next level needs. Recently, they have added the feature of identifying players by their shirt number, so if you want to focus on player # 5 you can easily do it.
Helping common people
When Henrik speaks about coaches, he’s actually speaking about that devoted parent in charge of his daughter’s school team, that person who is volunteering while keeping a full-time job, and even that amateur player with dreams of making it to the national championship. Veo Technologies is providing these people with two important factors: Time and evidence of hard work/talent.
The impact on professional sourcing and recruiting
What to do when a local team has a couple of players who keep showing the right talent? Well, it’s time to knock on the doors of some important people, right? With Veo Technologies players can quickly gather their best performance from the recordings and use it as a sort of video resume to showcase their talent in front of top-level recruiters. Just imagine how cool and life-changing that could be.
Integration, one of the biggest challenges
One of the biggest challenges Veo Technologies faced when designing its products was to find the right balance between hardware and software, both are essential components behind any technological product so discovering how to improve one aspect without affecting the performance of the other was crucial. Knowing that the result was meant to be amazing, help Henrik and his passionate team keep going.
It’s all about the team
As it’s already a habit of ours, we asked Henrik for his best advice for every young entrepreneur who’s thinking about making his way into the hardware industry. He answered by highlighting the power the people around you have. Especially for young folks it really makes a difference to surround yourself with people who not only share your vision but also have already had some degree of experience in your area, they know what works well and what could go wrong, so you start building a sense of confidence in your project.
