Something born out of passion
Lauren studied marketing at the university and she has also a master's degree in management, so it was really natural for her to develop a career in marketing and advertising. However, she shared with us that she was always interested in sports, as a kid she was very active and developed a fascination with tennis, a sport that she played professionally, so when life took her to Norway and the opportunity to build something of her own came out, it was a no brainer.
It had to be related to sports
The dream team
SportAI is the creation of not just Lauren, it’s the vision of a group of people bonding together over their passion for sports and their diverse skills. Having a team of people that come from different backgrounds but still manage to share a single mission is one of the key aspects behind the success of SportAI. But what exactly SportAI does?
A new path for sports analysis
Traditionally, sports analysis was a procedure that was carried out only based on what humans perceived, but making mistakes or missing details is part of our nature, so what if we could rely on the accuracy of computer vision, machine learning, and biometric analysis to understand much better the areas of improvement of an athlete? What if we could measure the level of mastery of a player and statistically compare it to that worldwide champion and see what specific techniques need to be worked on?
Advanced technology
SportAI starts its work by recognizing the actions of the players, categorizing them in real-time, that’s pretty amazing on its own but SportAI goes beyond that as it uses artificial intelligence to analyze sports techniques on the spot, giving coaches precise insight about how well or not a player is doing, Besides that, it offers personalized equipment recommendations according to the playing style of the athlete.
A role in injuries prevention
One of the most amazing features of SportAI is that it can be used to help prevent injuries. Think about it: if you are an athlete and don't realize you are doing certain repetitive movements that could end up hurting you, wouldn’t it be great to rely on a tool capable of letting you know that before it’s too late? That’s one of the potential uses for the future of SportAI
Get the right equipment
We mentioned it briefly above, but it’s so incredible that needs a paragraph of its own. SportAI is really invested in creating a product that revolutionizes the connection between AI and sports performance. So if you are an amateur player and want to improve your game, one of the first things you are going to need is to find the right equipment, but how could you make the decision that benefits you the most? SportAI is designed to solve that just by recording a video of your performance.
Democracy for sport technique analysis
Lauren knows that what she’s doing is helping to create a better growth scenario for players all over the world. Instead of restricting the use of sport technique analysis to top players who are surrounded by a huge amount of resources and expert professionals helping them along the way, she and her team have built something that can bring those performance insights to everyone who needs them. No one ever knows where the next big sports talent might come from.
Find the balance
If you have been following us-we hope you do, you might already be familiar with the question we like to ask our guests at the end of the interview. What is the best advice you can give to other entrepreneurs that are starting now? Lauren’s response can be summarized in a single word: balance. Find the balance between what makes you happy and your skills. If you can find something that is aligned with your passions and professional background, then you have already completed halfway on the road to success.
